- Rules, Secrets for Success, & Hints 2013-2014. Read this so you can see what is involved in a STEM Fair @ Root project. We have some changes from previous years, so read it even if you did a STEM Fair project last year. This has all the rules you have to follow, as well as some tips you probably want to follow. If you follow this, you are guaranteed to have a STEM Fair success!
- Entry Form 2013-2014. Fill this out and turn it in by December 18, 2013. This is where you tell us your general idea and commit to the STEM Fair. If you are working with a partner, each of you must turn in an entry form. You need a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult to sign the form. You can return it in your Tuesday folder or give it to your teacher.
- NEW THIS YEAR--Confirmation Form 2013-2014. Fill this out and turn it in by January 15, 2014. This is where you confirm your final title and a few details about your project. This is required for you to be in the STEM Fair. If you are working with a partner, each of you must turn in a confirmation form. You need a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult to sign the form. You can return it in your Tuesday folder or give it to your teacher. Hint--you get a bonus point when the title on your confirmation form matches the title on your STEM Fair poster!
- Self Checklist 2013-2014. This is not required, but is strongly recommended. Use this to check your STEM Fair poster and journal to be sure you have everything you need. We think it is helpful to read this before you start your experiment, so you can be sure your plan is complete. This helps you figure out what questions you have, so you can talk to a STEM coach. By the way, we will give a bonus point to every project that has a completed self checklist stapled into the scientific journal! (You only need one checklist per project, so if you are working with a partner, do this together.)
- Reviewer Form 2013-2014. This is what our STEM Fair committee and visiting STEM professionals will use as we review your STEM Fair project. It tells you exactly what we want to see in a great project. You do not have to look at it, but it will help you make sure you are well prepared for the STEM Fair. In addition to the poster and journal, this covers your spoken presentation, the appearance of your project, and the science behind your project. It also lists points for creativity and the bonus points.
- STEM Journal Table of Contents. You do not have to use this exact form(the one you use in Ms. Dozier's lab) , but you do need a table of contents in your STEM Fair Journal.
